What To Do...What To Do?

Indecision has never been a problem for me. Well, maybe it has...no, I think not...but then??

Get my point? I have trouble deciding my favorite color, let alone anything else. And you ought to go shopping with me...whew! Okay, so I may be a little indecisive but at least I am organized. Organization is easiest when you keep a list...now where is that list? I know it is somewhere around here. Oh well, so much for organization...but at least I know at the end of each day, once I've made my final choice it was the right choice...except for the time...

It's true I may be indecisive at times and unorganized at other times. And yes, even made wrong choices. However there has been some good to come out of it. Hard to believe, isn't it? But with God all things are possible. And that's exactly where my indecisiveness and wrong choices should end up...With God.

If nothing else I have learned over the years that I don't have to have all the answers because He always has them. I know when I am weak He is strong according to 2 Corinthians 12:10.

So when I am faced with one of life's tough challenges, how do I know the right choice? James 1:5 says, 'If you need wisdom--if you want to know what God wants you to do--ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking.'

But what exactly is God's wisdom? How will I recognize it? James 3:17 says, 'But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere.'

True, there are many times when simple decisions are just that!...simple. And I'm pretty sure God doesn't care too much about what color I wear but one thing is for sure. Any decision I make, if it comes from God's wisdom, will meet the above mentioned criteria.

There are times when we will get anxious and fail to wait on His direction. And on occasions we will definitely 'miss' the mark in seeking His wisdom. But the question is, 'Will we repeat the same mistake over and over or will we learn from it?'

Hopefully we will learn from our mistakes and learn better how to lean on Him for direction. He is a God of second chances and He is a God of forgiveness. Isn't that great news?!

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.' So I guess either we believe it or we don't.

...Now where did I put that list?
